Did Jeep end their contract with Bruce Springsteen after he made anti-Trump comments during a concert?

We came across the following post on Instagram:

According to the post, Jeep, an American automobile brand had ended a multi-million dollar contract with Bruce Springsteen, the American songwriter after he had made divisive anti-Trump comments in Europe.

Springsteen had previously appeared in a Jeep advertisement back in 2021, aired during Superbowl LV.

The claim comes after Springsteen had called the Trump administration “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous” on stage during his concert in Manchester, England on May 14 2025. In response, Trump posted on Truth Social, his social media platform, calling Springsteen a “pushy, obnoxious jerk” and “dumb as a rock”, saying that he should have kept his mouth shut until he returned to the country.

Springsteen repeated his criticism of Trump the next day on May 17, with Trump again voicing his displeasure on Truth Social, accusing Kamala Harris, the former Vice President of having  paid for the endorsements of Springsteen, Oprah, and Bono. He then stated that he would be going to call for a major investigation into the matter.

When we investigated the claim further, we found that the claim had originated from the “America’s Last Line of Defence” Facebook page. Their post, with the same picture of Springsteen and similar content as the claim on Instagram was posted on the page which describes itself as part of a “network of trollery and propaganda for cash” and emphasises that “nothing on this page is real”.

Black Dot Research had previously investigated a claim by them that former US President Joe Biden had been diagnosed with “acute dementia” in 2022, staying in office while Barack Obama “pulled the strings”.

Given the nature of the source and the absence of supporting evidence, we conclude that the claim is satire that has been wrongly identified as real information.
