Did MAGA influencer Laura Loomer post on X about feeding illegal immigrants to alligators?

We came across the following post on Instagram:

The post, with over 18 thousand likes at the time of writing showed a tweet from Laura Loomer, an American Far-Right political activist with a history of anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim posts.

Loomer gained global attention when hours after a meeting with US President Donald Trump, the President fired six national security council staffers who Loomer had described as disloyal to him. While Trump denied her role in the firing, he also praised her judgement, calling her “a very good patriot”. This meeting showed the large degree of influence that the influencer had within the Trump administration, despite the fact that she did not officially hold a position under President Trump.

When we looked into the claim, we found evidence that the post from Laura Loomer was in fact true, and is still available on her X profile. Loomer had also followed up and that post with another one stating that “alligators are guaranteed at least 65 million meals if we get started now”, an apparent reference to the Latino community in the United States which has a population of around 65 million. Finally, Loomer had reposted her original tweet, doubling down on her claim by saying “what’s wrong with feeding the alligators?”

Interestingly, while a disclaimer for each post mentions that the post may violate X’s rules against violent speech with visibility limited, the posts remained easy to find, with a Google search query on “Laura Loomer X Alligator Alcatraz” returning the aforementioned three posts.

With the original posts still up and visible then, the claim that Laura Loomer made a post about feeding illegal immigrants to alligators is true.
